The solid sterling pendant measures 22mm's or aprox 3/4 inch. Amazing details and meticulously crafted, each element was individually selected to compile into one unique pendant steeped in iconic imagery, history and tradition.
The pendant shows the basic Scottish crown with Fluer-de-Lis, along with Celtic Knot, Scotlands flag "X" accents and Thistle flower.
Fluer-de-Lis - Fleur de lis predominantly means perfection, purity, and courage but is also used in a variety of different contexts. At different times over the course of history, the fleur de lis has represented peace, war, strength, and nobility to name a few.
The Celtic Triquerta Knot - Also known as the Trinity knot, it is one of the oldest and most popular symbols of love. It is a Celtic symbol composed of three interlaced arcs, encirled to represent eternal love.
(It also embodies the POWER OF THREE in various interpretations. The manifestation of the divine trinity, father son holy spirit. The Celtic triple Goddess Brigid. Its triple aspect: “mother, maiden and crone”, we could go on and on.)
The Flag of Scotland - Is a white X-shaped cross, which represents the cross of the patron saint of Scotland, Saint Andrew on a blue sky. The white cross in the Scottish flag symbolizes peace, whereas blue symbolizes the virtues of justice, vigilance, and perseverance.
Thistle - The official flower of Scotland and emblem from the 1200s. In Celtic symbolism the thistle represents nobility and graciousness connotating bravery, courage, and loyalty in the face of treachery. The tough, painful spikes of the plant itself suggest endurance and fortitude. In the language of flowers the thistle is an ancient Celtic symbol of nobility of character as well as of birth.
